Čevljarski Most

One of Ljubljana's Seven Bridges. Cobbler's Bridge, or Čevljarski Most, this current version, is the handiwork of the ubiquitous Plečnik. He was a fan of columns and spheres, evidently.

Previously, the bridge here was called Butcher's Bridge, and the butchers would clean the meat in the river below. Due to fears of epidemics, the butchers were moved further downstream and replaced with shoemakers.

Prej se je tukajšnji most imenoval Mesarski most in mesarji so čistili meso v reki pod njim. Zaradi strahu pred epidemijami so mesarje preselili nižje in jih nadomestili s čevljarji.
